Nissan ’s Terrano has everything going for it: it has all-wheel drive, it runs economically on diesel fuel and it has the chunky good looks that always seem to go with big-wheeled, short-wheelbase, three-door recreation vehicles.
Oh yes, you can go to work in it too – comfortably and very quickly and with a great sound system blocking out the noise of the traffic – with room for four adults.
A nice touch is the Terrano II-emblazoned tough plastic cover over the rear-door mounted spare wheel.
The one-piece, swing-open door sits above a rugged step, has a no-nonsense handle to haul it open and a neat wipe/wash unit to keep its glass clean.
